Sometimes Life gets in the way.

Aarg!!, sometimes life just happens and interrupts our perfectly laid plans for our business. I am going through a lot of changes in my life right now and I don’t have as much time to devote to my business as I’m used to. This has been really tough for me. I’ve gone through (and continue to go through) the emotions like anxiety, anger and sadness. It’s hard to stay motivated during times like these. So how do you keep the momentum going in your business when life gets in the way? Here are a few tips I’m using to cope:

Give myself a break – Yes, that’s right, we tend to be our own worst enemies. So if you going through a stressful time and you are not able to devote much time to your business, give yourself a break and realize it’s not forever. Your business will continue as long as you have the desire for it to keep going.

Reduce my task list (something is better than nothing) – My task list used to be a mile long, right now its reduced to about 3-4 items a day because that is all I can fit in. Even though it drives me crazy, I can tell you it does make me feel better to know I’m at least doing SOMETHING as opposed to just letting it all go. Small tasks done every day will continue to make an impact on your business.

Fit it in where You can – I’m spending a lot more time in the car than I’m used to so one way I’m using that down time is to listen to educational & motivational podcasts and other audio training. I’m finding I can fit a lot of these types of calls in so I still feel engaged in my business. Find creative ways to work your business in, even if it means getting up a little earlier or going to bed a little later. The point is to take some action so you don’t completely give up.

How do you cope with staying motivated in your business? Please leave a comment and share with the rest of us, we can all learn from each other!

Some advantages of being an entrepreneur

There are many advantages of being an entrepreneur, but I believe these are the most valuable:

1. Doing what you love

If you are going to start a business I can assure you'll get better odds to succeed if you're doing something you love. Why? Because passion is the fuel that you'll need to face all the obstacles you'll find.

Do you feel fearful to fail? Of course you do; is natural. Don't forget that you're leaving your comfort zone and entering a Twilight Zone. Now imagine you in the Twilight Zone doing or learning how to do something new; then imagine you doing something you already know, love and are good at. In which situation do you think you have better odds to succeed?

I'm not saying you can´t or shouldn't learn something new or you should forget the market's needs and wants. No!. What I'm saying is that is possible to find a balance between what you love to do and what could be profitable and you must strive to reach that balance.

Additionally in the business jungle you have to survive being one of the best or the best in your segment and that is easier if you are passionate doing what you do.

This is why one of the advantages of being an entrepreneur is doing what you love: because you can become your passion into your main source of income and enjoy it at the same time. In your job you have to do what needs to be done, whether you like it or not.

2. Independence and freedom

Many people think independence and freedom means going to work or take vacations when you want or need. The truth is that is not possible at least in the earlier years of your business. That's because your business is weak, helpless and if you don't mind it carefully probably will die. Sounds like a baby? Probably is a good similarity.

On the other hand when your business is mature, strong and self sufficient, it begins to give you that independence and financial freedom you always wanted. It takes time but don't forget that the reward is worth your time, patience and efforts.

3. Balance in your life

If your business gives you the peace of financial freedom or at least being financially secure and you have time to enjoy it. What else can you ask?

You as a human being have many facets in your life (as spouse, father, mother, son, daughter, friend, member of the community, etc.) and being an entrepreneur or a business owner is just a part.

To establish and achieve the goals of your different facets is what is called: Balance. Of course you need to fulfill your and your family's most basics needs first and that is why financial planning is important for you.

Of all the advantages of being an entrepreneur this is probably the most important because we are conscious or unconsciously looking for it.

4. Recognition and self fulfillment

Is very human to desire the recognition of your family, friends and the community and is good to have the feeling that you have done something really good in your life.

These are additional advantages of being an entrepreneur and a logic consequence of doing what you love.

5. Income potential

This is a big one because when you're an entrepreneur you can create a direct relationship between your efforts and your income. In other words: if your efforts are higher your reward should be higher too. Of course that happens if your efforts are well planned, effective and well focused.

Many people really believe that of all the advantages of being an entrepreneur this is the best. That's probably because in comparison to a job where your boss, the company's financial budget, the Board and the economy decides your salary and if you can stay in the company or not; when you're an entrepreneur nobody else except the market forces and you can define your income.

Of course don't forget the market will be the hardest judge of your entrepreneurial skills, harder than your boss or company. But if you pay attention you'll see the market's signals and you can make better decisions accordingly. That will never happen if you are an employee.

That's it for today.

STOP being realistic.

What’s the good word my good people?
Today I dedicated to being realistic!

Being realistic is the worst thing that you can ever do while pursuing your dreams. Reality as you know it, is based only on your experience and of those around you.

Reality as you know it, is extremely limited. So STOP being realistic!!

Everything you want is yours if you can imagine yourself having it!!
Reality tells you that things are impossible!!
Reality tells you that things are difficult!
Reality tells you that there is a certain way to obtain success!!

Dare to do the impossible.
Have faith in yourself and in your abilities!!
Absolutely nothing can stop your determined soul!!
Your path to success is YOU!!
Take time to develop your craft and throw reality out the window!!
Who cares about conventional wisdom!! Do it now! Do it your way! And make your dream happen!!

Drop the poverty mindset.

A lot of people are poor thinkers, which will limit them when it comes to bringing money into their lives. By a ‘poor thinker’ I mean someone who thinks they are relatively poor and will never be anything more. Most people won’t even realise it.

Ask yourself, right now, how much you think you are worth in terms of your employment. I can almost guarantee you the figure you came to was based on your current salary. Now add a ‘0’ onto the end of the figure you came to; how does that make you feel? If you thought ‘there is no way I am worth that’, then you are a poor thinker.

This article will show you 10 ways to get out of the ‘poor thinker’ mode and open up a wealthy mindset.
Get used to the higher figures in your life. You are surrounded by high figures; your mortgage, your car loan, your credit card statements, etc. These figures are all debt figures and are figures that you dread when you look at them. Now it’s time love the high figures, not the debt, just the figures. Ask yourself every day how you can pay off each debt, one at a time and learn to love making that R100,000 to pay off the loan, or that R150,000 to pay of your car loan. When you learn to love paying off your debt as quickly as possible you will be thinking in big numbers and get used to them. When your debt is cleared you will already be used to thinking big and start living the life you want.

Think of 1 way every week to make an extra R100 per day. Believe me there are a million ways to do it; sell your old junk on eBay, write a report and start selling it, take your neighbours dog for a walk every day and many more, and much more creative than what I’ve just mentioned.
Take action; don’t spend too long thinking about making that extra R100 per day, pick a few and take action, if it doesn’t work leave it and move on.

Although it might not be possible to start socialising with wealthy people it is possible to start interacting with people who are taking action to become wealthy. These people are here online and at Golf, Tennis, Boat Clubs etc . Join an online forum , attend a presentation to start mixing with wealthy thinkers and wealthy action takers. These clubs/people can be inspirational and get you thinking wealthy thoughts.

Believe, truly believe, that you can become wealthy. Truly believing you can become wealthy takes a lot of hard work, especially if you have had the ‘poor thinking’ mindset for a long time. More than likely it started in childhood and continued on through adulthood, so don’t give up and keep believing and taking action to becoming wealthy.

Become committed to becoming wealthy, don’t take it light heartedly. Wealthy people are thinking about building their wealth every day. Becoming committed means thinking about it often and taking action on those thoughts.

Right now, you are worth more than you get paid from an employer. You are used to trading your time for someone else’s idea of how much your time is worth. It’s time to start setting your own rates. I don’t mean pack your job in and start a business. I mean start doing something on your terms and on your rates. If you think that your babysitting is worth R200 an hour instead of R50 per hour, set the new rates and start advertising.

Becoming wealthy means giving up the time you spend watching TV, getting up early, and stop wasting time ‘faffing’ (faffing means wasting time doing insignificant activities).

Becoming wealthy also means thinking wealthy thoughts. Get rid of the ‘faffing’ thoughts and concentrate more on how to make more money. I would rather think about living the life I want than thinking about what I watched on TV last night.

Think long term when it comes to wealth. When you have started making money and getting used to the bigger numbers start making your money work for you both in the present and the future. Then when you have all bases covered start making your money work passively for you, meaning less input from you and more money.

That's it for today. Hope this was helpful. You are welcome to comment on this article or contact us to find out how we can help you take your life back.

How the wealthy think.

I had to share this...

T. Harv Eker, author of Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth, believes wealthy people inherently think differently about money. We each have a unique “financial blueprint,” which is created over a lifetime of our exposure to money messages. Eker lists 17 ways that wealthy people behave and think about money:
Wealthy people believe, “I create my life.” Poor people believe, “Life happens to me.”
Wealthy people play the money game to win. Poor people play the money game to not lose.
Wealthy people are committed to being rich. Poor people want to be rich.
Wealthy people think big. Poor people think small.
Wealthy people focus on opportunities. Poor people focus on obstacles.
Wealthy people admire other rich and successful people. Poor people resent rich and successful people.
Wealthy people associate with positive, successful people. Poor people associate with negative or unsuccessful people.
Wealthy people are willing to promote themselves and their value. Poor people think negatively about selling and promotion.
Wealthy people are bigger than their problems. Poor people are smaller than their problems.
Wealthy people are excellent receivers. Poor people are poor receivers.
Wealthy people choose to get paid based on results. Poor people choose to get paid based on time.
Wealthy people think “both”. Poor people think “either/or”.
Wealthy people focus on their net worth. Poor people focus on their working income.
Wealthy people manage their money well. Poor people mismanage their money well.
Wealthy people have their money work hard for them. Poor people work hard for their money.
Wealthy people act in spite of fear. Poor people let fear stop them.
Wealthy people constantly learn and grow. Poor people think they already know.

You know what to do.
